I've been tagged!

I've been tagged by Meagan!!

Here are the rules:
1. Link to the person that tagged you
2. Post the rules on your blog
3. Share six non-important things/habits/quirks about yourself
4. Tag six random people at the end of your post by linking to their blogs
5. Let each random person know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their website.
6. Let your tagger know when your entry is up.

So here are some "things" about me:
1. I do not like those costumed character things. For example-- Mickey Mouse, Stomper (A's)...
2. I only like even numbers and always put on my right sock on first, shoe, leg in pants..that type of thing.
3. Everything has to be in its place, and if it's not it drives me nuts! Even if it how it's organized doesn't make sense to someone else-- it makes sense to me!
4. I am pretty independent but don't always like being alone or particularly enjoy being single.
5. I am a sucker for animals! I have the biggest soft spot for them! If I could have more animals I would!
6. If I could wear any type of shoes it would be heels. It's not often you won't see me in some sort of heels or wedges.

I'm tagging- ( I don't quite have six)

Sunday Funday

This past weekend my family and extended family got together to celebrate my little cousin's 2nd birthday! He is getting so much bigger! He's becoming a little man!

It was so nice to spend some time and see my family! It was especially nice that my brother Stephen and his girlfriend Amy were able to come down from Sacramento for Sawyer's birthday party!

::Chances::

I put myself out there and tend to wear my heart on my sleeve.

But so what? What's wrong with that?

As I have got older I now realize that I need to take a chance because you never know how it will turn out. That's what I am doing now.

Even if I do get hurt in the end, at least I put myself out there.

You never know who is out there. The right person for me, for anyone for that matter, could be right in front of me.

It might be the person you're with right now, or the person you dated in the past, or maybe the person I've had a thing for for a while, but never told them, and maybe now just exploring something with them.

Maybe we're just too scared to admit to ourselves that that someone is perfect for us.

Maybe we are too scared to open up and actually take a chance.

So I wear my heart on my sleeve and remain hopeful in any situation I am in.

Even if I do in the end get hurt. At least I took a chance.

Like the quote says, "Take a chance because you never know how absolutely perfect something could turn out to be. "

::These are a few of my favorite things::

Some of my favorite quotes I thought I'd share!

"I once heard that love is friendship on fire."

"Later that day I got to thinking about relationships. There are those that open you up to something new and exotic, those that are old and familiar, those that bring up lots of questions, those that bring you somewhere unexpected, those that bring you far from where you started, and those that bring you back. But the most exciting, challenging and significant relationship of all is the one you have with yourself. And if you can find someone to love the you you love, well, that's just fabulous."
-Carrie "Sex and the City"

"One must not lose desires. They are mighty stimulants to creativeness, to love, and to long life."
-Alexander A. Bogomoletz

"Sometimes the measure of friendship isn't your ability to not harm but your capacity to forgive the things done to you and ask forgiveness for your own mistakes."
-Randy K. Milholland

"Slow down and enjoy life. It's not only the scenery you miss by going too fast - you also miss the sense of where you are going and why."
-Eddie Cantor

"Our lives are not determined by what happens to us but by how we react to what happens, not by what life brings to us, but by the attitude we bring to life. A positive attitude causes a chain reaction of positive thoughts, events, and outcomes. It is a catalyst, a spark that creates extraordinary results."
-ANON

"A kiss is a lovely trick designed by nature to stop speech when words become superfluous."
-INGRID BERGMAN

"The beginning of love is to let those we love be perfectly themselves, and not to twist them to fit our own image. Otherwise we love only the reflection of ourselves we find in them."
-Thomas Merton

" Love is the ability and willingness to allow those that you care for to be what they choose for themselves without any insistence that they satisfy you."
-Wayne Dyer

"I wanted a perfect ending. Now I've learned, the hard way, that some poems don't rhyme, and some stories don't have a clear beginning, middle, and end. Life is about not knowing, having to change, taking the moment and making the best of it, without knowing what's going to happen next. Delicious ambiguity".

"Give in to love, or live in fear."
- Mimi Marquez, "Another Day", Rent

"Love has nothing to do with what you are expecting to get, it's what you are expected to give -- which is everything."

:: Upcoming Election ::

The upcoming day to vote for either Obama-Biden or McCain-Palin is just right around the corner. It will be a tough decision for some and for others a rather easy one. As for me it's quite simple-- I won't be voting for McCain-Palin. I will not say if I am a Democrat or a Republican. But I will not vote for McCain-Palin. Why you ask? I'll tell you why-- Sarah Palin.

Don't get me wrong I think it's great that the Republicans have chosen to elevate a woman to this level, vice president. It would be awesome to see woman of all parties included in politics. So hats off to Palin for that. But some of Palin's political views suck!!

First of all Palin has terrible views on environmental issues. As the Governor of Alaska she promoted oil and natural gas resource development which included opening the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge to drilling. She also gave the OK for Chevron to dump more toxic oil and gas waste into Cook Inlet waters where the Cook Inlet beluga whale presides, which is almost an endangered species. I mean really, do you want someone like that help running our country? She also supported the Alaska Department of Fish and Game policy which allows Alaska state biologists the ability to hunt wolves from helicopters.

As someone who has a soft spot for all animals there is no way in hell I'd vote for McCain-Palin. Here are a few more reasons why. Keep on reading if you can handle it.

Sarah Palin is also against marriage equality and is for a federal gay-marriage ban. I, for one, am for equal rights for gays and lesbians. Everyone should be treated with equality despite your sexual orientation and should be allowed to get married.

She is also pro-life. Now don't get me wrong, that's not necessarily a bad thing. It's her choice, but she is opposed to abortion in any and all cases. This includes if a woman has been raped and incest. I'm sorry but if a woman or girl for that matter has been raped or incest she should have the right to decide to get an abortion or not. It shouldn't be any one elses decision what someone can and can not do. No matter what the case is.

So in my opinion I really don't want someone like this in the help of running our country with these kind of political views.

::It shouldn't be about RACE::

I came up with this a while ago and thought I would share my P.O.V about this.

I hope no one takes offense to this but this is my opinion of this topic.

What race or ethnicity you are shouldn't matter. It really shouldn't make a difference. Yes a person's race is a part of who they are and makes up their cosmetic makeup; what that person looks like on the outside. But it doesn't necessarily define WHO they are. A person's race/ethnicity can determine their beliefs and outlooks, also their religious views but ultimately what it comes down to is that a person defines who they are. YOU define who you are.

You as a person make you who you are. By your up bringing, the experiences you face, the things you learn, the life lessons. Your race or ethnicity doesn't ultimately make you who you are. YOU make you who you are. Growing up bi-racial I had difficulties labeling myself a certain ethnicity, trying to figure out who I am and trying to fit in. But as I got older I realized it shouldn't be about what race I am. It's about WHO I am, how I present myself, not my race. I am Chinese, Portuguese and German and of course my ethnicities play apart in who I am and believe but not necessarily defines me as a whole. I hate how people make judgments or stereotypes based on someone's race or a race of people. Every one of us is guilty of this. I won't deny it, I'm guilty of this. But it shouldn't be all about race. It should be about WHO the person is and how they present themselves.

We as people need to wake up and look beyond that! Look beyond race and not stereotype or judge someone because of what they look like. This also goes for what you hear about a person. Some people need to look past that and I find it sad that in this day in age and here in United States, where the culture and ethnicities are so diverse, that some people just can't seem to. This has been an issue that has been around for hundred of years, but you would think that in this century people would be more open minded instead of so close minded. It's sad that every race gets judge and stereotyped. When will this stop? That is the big question here....

DEFINE YOURSELF!!

This is for everyone, just a reminder about life! Something I came up with...

There comes a point where a person comes to the realization that the best thing to do, because sometimes they have no other choice, is to let go and just live! Every minute you spend upset or mad is a minute you won't get back. Stop worrying about what other people think of you.
A true friend is someone who knows you and loves you just the same!

No one can live up to anyone elses standards and they shouldn't have to OR be expected to. The only standards one should live up to are their own. Everything starts with yourself! It starts with you making up your mind about what you're going to do with YOUR life. Don't accept anyone elses definition of your life, define yourself! Life isn't something that should be put on hold because it's going to go on without you whether you like it or not. So make the best out of your life and live it to the fullest! Don't let anything sacrifice your happiness!! Happiness isn't a destination, it's a journey.
Happiness starts with you!!

XOXO

Life is Precious

Life is precious.
It's a gift given to us.
I realize this now more than ever.
Life is something that we should not take for granted.
Especially the people in our lives.
I live by a saying, "Live life to the fullest. Live like it's your last day."

Too many good people are
taken away from us.
Too many young people
leave this world because of
unfortunate circumstances.

Life is precious.
Don't take other people for granted,
because you don't know
when they won't be here.

You may not agree with
how someone you care about
lives their life.
But remember this:

It's their life.
They'll live it how they want.
If they're not doing anything
that will harm themselves
Then let them live.

So remember
Don't take anyone for granted.
Because you don't know
when they won't be here.

Life is precious,
live each day to the fullest.
